3D Printed Terrain

3D Printed Terrain

I love to print terrain!

From the very beginning of my model building and my wargaming hobby journey, I have loved creating miniature worlds for my models to live in and dioramas to express the inner narrative coursing through my mind. A long time ago that involved lots of glue, scissors, cardboard and plastic, and hours of labor. With the advances in additive manufacturing that process can be near completely automated for those that choose to embrace the technology.

I mostly use FDM printing for scenery and terrain. I have commercial licenses with innovative designers like MadHawk Miniatures, Fabricators Lair and more. Let me print some awesome stuff for your gaming table or next diorama and take much of the labor out of the equation. Although I do plan on providing some terrain printed in multi-color, most of what I produce will require some finish work and painting.

Now on to the nerdy stuff....Most of what I print uses layer thicknesses of 0.12 to 0.16 mm which is finer than the industry standard of 0.2 mm. This results in a much better looking terrain with less visible layer lines. What is on the inside of the terrain is important too! There are a lot of variables in additive manufacturing and the thickness of the walls and the internal support structures are important because it is the scaffolding that supports the outer shell. I don't cut corners to decrease printing time. I strive to find the perfect mixture of weight, strength and durability with filament usage and printing times always coming last in the production equation. If I wouldn't put it on my own gaming table, I'm not selling it.

Thank you for your support!
